RxBuddy ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
SMS / Mobile Information Disclosure: No mobile information, phone numbers, opt-in data, or consent data collected through the RxBuddy SMS program will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Name, email address, and mobile phone number
- Medication names, dosages, and schedules
- Side-effect reports you share via SMS (symptom, severity, date)
- Time zone, ZIP code, and account preferences
- Messages you send to our SMS companion
- Caregiver, trusted contact, or provider information (if applicable)
Automatically collected:
- SMS message delivery status and timestamps
- Medication adherence responses (e.g., "TAKEN," "SKIP")
- Service usage logs (login times, feature access)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Send automated medication reminder SMS messages at your scheduled times
- Respond to your messages with our AI wellness companion
- Track your medication adherence and provide it to authorized caregivers/providers
- Record side-effect reports you share and surface them on your adherence dashboard
- Operate, maintain, and improve the RxBuddy service
- Send account-related notifications (e.g., consent confirmations)
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. SMS Data Usage & Messaging Disclosures
Your mobile phone number is used solely to deliver medication reminders, adherence summaries, refill alerts, caregiver notifications, and wellness support messages through the RxBuddy service.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers, opt-in data, and consent records collected through the RxBuddy SMS program are never sold, rented, leased, or otherwise transferred to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional use. We share your phone number only with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) strictly to transmit messages you have consented to receive.
Message frequency: Recurring automated messages are sent based on your medication schedule. Frequency varies; up to 10 messages per day.
Message and data rates may apply based on your carrier plan.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any RxBuddy message. Reply HELP for help. See our SMS Terms for full program details.
4. Sharing Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Caregivers and providers you have explicitly linked to your account — they can view your adherence data
- Twilio Inc. — our SMS delivery provider, to transmit messages to your phone
- Anthropic — our AI provider, to generate responses to your messages (message content is processed but not stored by Anthropic for training without explicit consent)
- Amazon Web Services — our cloud hosting provider
- Law enforcement or regulators — only when required by law
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and conversation history for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days after deletion to allow for account recovery. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@rxbuddy.us.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your credentials confidential.
7. Children's Privacy
RxBuddy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP
- Withdraw consent to data processing (this will require account deletion)
